Tech Pathways (Return To Unit)

GAP - TRON

a 9-month digital up-skilling program for coding (3-month full-time boot camp into a 6-month apprenticeship on one of our teams). ### How To Apply https://url.irregular.chat/msuite ## The Software Factory (Futures Command)

There are options for cohorts to The Software Factory with utilization back at your unit. This ends up being about a year away from your unit.

The Army Software Factory is part of Army Futures Command and is developing a first-of-its-kind integrated software development initiative to teach, develop and employ self-sustaining talent from all ranks within the military and civilian workforce. The first cohort began in January 2021, with future cohorts starting every six months comprised of approximately 25 Soldiers and 5 DA Civilians. Our team is housed in the Austin Community College Rio Grande Campus in downtown Austin, TX. We are establishing an environment that is more conducive to building modern software solutions – this includes wearing civilian clothes and building a flat organization where everyone is on a first-name basis, and skill can eclipse rank. Above all, our motto is “By Soldiers, For Soldiers.”[1]

The Software Factory is based at Austin Community College in Austin, Texas. [2]

I have some OT exposure, and there isn’t anyone doing real pen tests in real OT environments, mostly just the IT side of a utility provider. > > Dragos might have some red teamers, but even they won’t be OT pros. What is your desired end state and target? What kind/sector of OT or util, and what D4M kinda of thing are you looking for? OT OCO is relatively rare at NSA and Cybercom CMTs because they are all dual-use. I will do an exercise targeting virtual scada early next year if you want more details, you can pm me. (Skyler G, 20231003) ##### A: The Cyber Mentor (TCM) > A: More of a vendor & cert series than specific OT, but The Cyber Mentor (TCM) has a lot of good training to build a path towards OSCP or lower-level content. TCM has excellent reviews & it’s priced for the unsponsored commoner. https://academy.tcm-sec.com/courses (Cliff Mc, 20231003)

Q: Anyone been to JACWC?

WTF is it and what’s the experience required? Is it even worth the time?Anyone been to JACWC? WTF is it and what’s the experience required? Is it even worth the time?

A:

COPC is just JPP for cyber planning with some extra cyber methodologies (Ross)

JNAC is dead, they recommended JCOPC as replacement. (FK)

Yea, now they are piping all the 170As in WOBC though CEAC (Tim)

JNAC, JCOPC, JACWC have been a real thorn in my side. Seems to generate V-Tipped O’s or Senior NCO’s who understand about 10% of the situation or requirements, but feel far to confident to speak with confidence to Cyber Planning and execution. It breaks down CMF org flow which is good to know, like who do I go to at the next echelon to fix a problem, but other than that I haven’t seen them be very helpful. Mission Commander Course at CCOE Cyber School house seems to be the better option, its Joint I believe.
