MME Architecture Wiki Page

This page will cover the MME Architecture, its challenges, and resources.

Concepts

Mobile Edge Computing (MEC): [invalid URL removed] A distributed computing architecture that places cloud computing capabilities at the edge of the cellular network. This reduces network congestion and improves application performance. TMN (Tactical Mission Network): A network designed to support military operations. SOCOM SEME (Special Operations Command Sensor Enterprise Management Equipment): A system for managing and integrating sensor data from various sources. Forward Edge Compute (FEC): Bringing compute resources closer to the data source, enabling disconnected and cross-cloud services. Route Switch Compute: The ability to process and switch data paths at the network edge. UAS/CUAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems/Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems): Technologies for drone systems and counter-drone systems. unmanned-systems chat COP Aggregation and Integration: Consolidating and integrating data from various Collection Platforms (COPs). SATCOM/COTM/ATQH: Military communication technologies: Satellite Communication (SATCOM), Commercial Off-the-Shelf Mobile (COTM), and Assured Tactical Handheld Radios (ATQH). SDN (Software-Defined Networking): A network architecture that allows for programmatic control of network devices. LTE/5G/4G Services: Cellular network technologies providing varying levels of data transmission speeds.

Challenges

Integrating disparate systems and data sources. Enabling disconnected and cross-cloud services for Forward Edge Compute. Detecting and mitigating threats from drones using LTE networks. Balancing technological advancements with user training and knowledge transfer. Resource limitations and manpower constraints.

Resources

To be populated with links to relevant technical specifications, user manuals, and training materials.
